Swarm E-Mails

For many years, I wrote all of the marketing e-mails for Swarm. Swarm is a super fun, super playful product. And the e-mails certainly reflect that. The marketing e-mails sent out for Swarm cover a range of topics such as feature updates, statistics on the most checked into spots around the world, #protips and hacks to get the best experience, and more.

They’re sent out on a weekly basis and are typically planned around the existing social and content calendar that the marketing team builds out. Here are some highlights:

Something great the Swarm team worked on for the end of 2016 was a year in review e-mail. Take a look at my personal stats here.  I love the way it turned out.  We took things to next level with 2017 stats.  I loved personalizing the content sections and working closely with design and engineering to sneak in a few fun Easter eggs.

Swarm Challenges were a big focus in 2016, Swarm users could opt in and take part in Challenges across the US, the prizes varied from a comically large box of candy to a dream vacation in Italy.  This was just one of the ways we aimed to bring delight to our users.
