Swarm

Swarm is the Foursquare Check In app. It’s a way to lifelog by keeping track of your places and photos, you can keep up with friends, compete on a weekly leaderboard, unlock achievements like coins and stickers.  Really a one stop shop. You can download Swarm here.

I was responsible for all product copy, onboarding release notes, app store descriptions, screenshots, helping brainstorm new features. Pretty much any word that any person outside of the fours walls of the office was reading. That was me.

One of the biggest benefits of Swarm is the personal insights that you gain from consistent use. You can find this information on your profile, and also on every check-in.

I liked to make insights silly and fun to keep users excited about their accomplishments. For example, seeing this insight at the yoga studio made me want to keep going to yoga. (Whether or not I did is another story.)

I also created hundreds of ephemeral insights for users all over the world. Typically surrounding holidays or big social events. I sometimes worked with our international communities to set these up. Here’s one from an international meetup of our Superuser community.

Release notes were something that I hold near and dear. There are only so many ways you can say “bug fixes and updates”, so I tried to stay creative even when an app update might not have the most exciting content. People all over the world love to tweet at Swarm about them.  It warmed my heart.❀️

Want to see more swam stuff? I also helped create their Stickers and emails.
